"Craig Winter grew up in Brisbane, Australia and Suva, Fiji where his family owned one of the largest advertising agencies in the Southern Hemisphere.

His father, Gary Winter, is recognised as one of the world's most prominent and influential maritime artists and so it seems natural that Craig was influenced by art from a very early age.

He spent twelve years in Tasmania, Australia before recently moving back to Queensland where he paints to a world audience, shipping paintings around the globe.

His paintings are currently hanging in collections in Spain, Japan, Germany, Scotland, New Zealand and, of course, Australia.

Winter works predominantly with Atelier acrylics on canvas, in sizes ranging from A4 up to 1500mm x 1000mm and uses just three colours to attain every hue imaginable.

Over the years he has worked and socialised with some of the best known artists in Australia - including Archibald winners - so his sphere of experience, knowledge and influence is remarkably wide.

Winter's Australian wildlife paintings are in high demand by collectors but he continues to paint just a couple of these each year meaning that buyers investments are well protected.

Other favourite themes are Queensland's famous Fraser Island, yachts, shipwrecks, outback landscapes and classically oriented pieces including his well-known "Hand of David".

Winter's pieces can be described as Realist though other influences include the work of many of the Impressionists as well as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo.

His paintings represent a unique and collectable series of Australian art which is assured of appreciation in the years to follow."
